Small Business Economic Impact Alliance Discusses Effect of Business Regulations on Economy
Karla Lyngvar and Bill Gausewitz of the Small Business Economic Impact Alliance (SBEIA) will participate in a panel discussion on the impact government regulations have on small business.
FOLSOM, CA, September 11, 2011 /Small Business PR News/ -- On September 13th, Karla Lyngvar, co-founder of the Small Business Economic Impact Alliance (SBEIA), will join senator Ted Gaines in participating in a panel discussion to talk about government regulations and the financial burden they place on small business and the local economy through over-regulation. This discussion is part of Good Morning Truckee, a community forum and networking opportunity presented by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce.
"It's time to turn this economy around, and it's going to start with small business," commented Lyngvar, CEO and co-founder of SBEIA. She is an inspirational leader and is also an in-demand speaker, trainer and coach. "Small business accounts for 99.2% of all jobs and generates 70% of all revenue in the United States, so by nurturing this segment, we can make a huge impact on the economy. Part of the way we do that is through monitoring and proposing legislation on behalf of small business owners to make sure their interests are protected."
Gaines has introduced "Red Tape" legislation, which SBEIA supports due to its intent to reduce the number of existing regulations by one-third. It is hoped that this will result in an economic climate that will help small business to thrive.
SBEIA Legislative Chair Bill Gausewitz, an attorney specializing in the regulatory and administrative field and former Director of the California Office of Administrative Law, will also be in attendance. "What people don't realize when they make regulations that they think will improve things, is that there are usually unintended consequences of those regulations that hurt business," Gausewitz explained. "When we hurt business, that effect trickles down to the consumer and damages the economy as a whole."
The panel discussion will take place on Tuesday, September 13th at 7:00AM at the Truckee Town Hall in the Council Chambers, 10183 Truckee Airport Road, 2nd Floor. This discussion is open to the public, and small business owners and other interested parties are encouraged to attend. The cost is $8 for Truckee Donner Chamber members, $10 to others, and includes a continental breakfast.
